Hey! Nice to Meet you!

My name is Elyse Niederee

I’m originally from the mountains of Salt Lake City, Utah. Growing up with easy access to nature and incredible outdoor recreation opportunities has shaped me as a person and as an artist.

Even after running around in the mountains, I still couldn’t stand still! I’m very lucky that I found dance at such a young age as my first love and creative outlet.

I moved to NYC in 2008 to pursue dance and musical theater. In the decades I’ve spent in NYC I have trained with incredible teachers, I’ve gotten to do some amazing gigs, I’ve traveled the world performing and creating, and most importantly, I’ve built a community and a network that inspires me, and pushes me to continue to challenge myself creatively.

Yoga and Wellness

I started my yoga practice as a teenager because it paired so well with dance. I developed a deep love for how yoga made me feel, physically and mentally. When I moved to NYC I found some incredible studios where I was a frequent offender. In 2012 I took the leap to acquire my 200-hour certification. I have been teaching yoga for 15 years and it’s the best ‘survival job’ I could imagine. From yoga I expanded my knowledge of fitness by getting certified as a personal trainer and teaching more fitness based classes as well as yoga and meditation. I love creating an atmosphere of calm, safe, support for my students.

Some Human Attributes!

My love of the outdoors knows no bounds. I have an insatiable lust for National Parks, nature in all forms and seasons, State Capitols, and history. My happiest place is waking up in a tent to the cool late spring sunrise of the desert with my hair smelling like campfire from the night before.

I love checking out the single bar in a small town on road trips.

I love walking barefoot on dewy grass.

I love the peace I feel when I peruse the book titles on my parents bookshelf.

I love the thrill I feel riding my bike over the bridges in NYC.

I love laughing with my friends.

Ask me where to hike, and I would love to tell you, or better yet, I would love to join you!
